I wasn't familiar with either of their music so I went on allmusic.com to see their discographies with ratings.

Brandy's:

These ratings are out of a possible 5. So Brandy is clearly a top-shelf RnB singer with mostly 4 stars- even Human which she was bitching about in Ep. 3 was well received (I think she was unhappy with its sales).

But Ray J...wow. This guy clearly sucks! But this answers my question: how did such a lame-ass artist grab all this attention? ans: the Kardashian sex tape- that and being a self-proclaimed Hollywood baller. Disgusting.

lol...Ray has a decent singing voice, but that has always been overshadowed by his wack actions (i.e. his sex tape with Kim K, calling himself a baller/playa, FTLORJ 1 & 2, etc)

I love brandy as a recording artist. Rayj piggybacked off of brandy by being on her tv sitcom.Then the music career came later,I only liked one or two of his songs.

Ray J has always been in Brandy's shadow and riding off of her fame and success. He knows it, we all know it, but I think he's okay with it.

I saw the premiere episode last nite and missed this- Brandy introduces herself, saying been in the biz for 15 years, a bunch of grammys, platinum and gold albums, etc. Then Ray J does the same kind of introduction but he's 100% exaggerating- been in the business for 20 years, had some album that went triple platinum, blah blah. Does he think he's fooling anyone? Coming on right after Brandy it made him look like an idiot.
