I've only seen snippets of this season, and this girl has a pretty decent voice...but something about this situtation just seems off...idk why it just does

It's probably true. Crystal is actually the best IMO and seems really down to earth. She seemed genuinely hurt when the last girl left. She probably realizes that the voting has been based more on popularity than actual talent so what's the use in trying.

Now, that my baby kate got eliminated from DWTS, i expect IDOL to go back to #1

CRYSTAL BOWERSOX SAYS SHE WASN'T CLOSE TO QUITTING "IDOL":

4/22/2010

RYAN SEACREST recently revealed that CRYSTAL BOWERSOX almost quit "American Idol" a few weeks ago . . . but fortunately, he caught her in the nick of time, and had a deep conversation with her to talk her out of it. Sort of.

--Well, Crystal now says she DID have a talk with Ryan . . . but she was never seriously considering leaving the show. And she also insinuates that she isn't thrilled that the conversation became public.

--She tells E! Online, quote, "I never intended on quitting. None of that [was true]. We had a conversation, but it definitely didn't go down the way that it has been portrayed as. We had a simple, civil conversation.

--"Ryan gave me great advice. And I highly respect him. I am not mad at Ryan Seacrest. He is a great man. We just bumped into each other and had a good talk."

--For what it's worth, KATELYN EPPERLY . . . one of this year's Top 24 finalists . . . said Crystal sent her a text saying, quote, "I'm fine. Betrayed by Seacrest!"

(--Also, in fairness to Ryan, it's unclear if HE'S the one who over-sensationalized this story . . . or if it was the entertainment media. In this case, E! Online.)

(--Their initial story only included one quote from Ryan. He just said he told Crystal, quote, "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house.")

(--He was NOT quoted saying that Crystal was on the BRINK of self-elimination, so it's unknown how he characterized their pow-wow in the parking lot.)
