Michael Lynche AKA BIG MIKE DQ'edA moment of pride has turned to sorrow as an American Idol contestant has been cut from the competition after violating a confidentiality agreement, according to a report. Michael Lynche (a.k.a. Big Mike) was reportedly told to pack his bags after his father revealed to his local Florida paper, The St. Petersburg Times, that Michael had made the top 24 — a violation of Idol rules requiring the singers and their families to keep the Hollywood week results quiet until they’re broadcast. The New York Post, citing Idol spoiler site Joe’s Place, says Michael was replaced in the top 24 over the weekend. FOX has declined to comment on the report. If Lynche has indeed been booted, he wouldn’t be the first. Last season, Joanna Pacitti was replaced by Felicia Barton on the list of top 36 contestants. FOX would not give a reason other than Pacitti was found to be “ineligible to continue in the competition.” But her dismissal followed reports that she had connections to executives at Idol producer Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.

I guess he missed the birth of his baby for nothing. I hope his dad isn't that dumb and this isn't true.

sounds a bit too much...IMO
(if true) maybe dad didn't get the memo that HE wasn't allowed to say anything per his sons contract...plus it seems like he was just too excited that his some make it to the next level...oh well, guess that gives #37 another shot to fail again
however, it's understandable why the girl was replaced, but why did it take her getting to the top 36 before they discovered it....I know that from past Idol shows they say it's because they have so many people to verify, just thought they would have straigthened that out by now since this is like the (insert number here) season...plenty of time to create a better system

This is a shame, because you could deff tell the producers liked him......they gave him like 30 min of airtime each episode.

I was looking this up after I saw this thread and most of the sites say they don't have confirmation yet.

Another contestant was disqualified, Chris Golightly. But no one knows why yet. Tim Urban replaced him.

I would be pissed if my dad or any family member did that to me. Especially if I were him and missed the birth of my child.

thats a shame if the story is true. Thats a quick slap to the face that your dream, is no longer a reality anymore.
